CEDAR PARK, TX — A Cedar Park teenager has broken two records for having the world's longest legs for a female and for being the teenager with the longest legs.
Towering at a height of six feet, ten inches tall, Maci Currin, 17, has a left leg measuring just over 53 inches long and a right leg slightly shorter at 52.874 inches, according to Guinness World Records officials. Those lengthy legs — comprising 60 percent of her total height — are now official record-setting limbs.
In a video posted by records officials, her mother, Traci Currin, said everyone in the family is tall — except for her, standing at five feet, seven inches tall. The record-setting teen's dad is six foot, five inches while her still-growing brother is six foot, four inches.

"I guess there's some kind of gene in there that gives her that tallness," her mother said in the video. The mom also described the pride she feels for her daughter, who embraced her height amid early growth spurts — standing proud while being photographed with her shorter peers.
Initially self-conscious about her formidable height, the young woman said she gradually stopped worrying how others perceived her. "Around sophom*ore year, I just stopped caring what people thought of me," Currin said in the Guinness Records video. "And once I just stopped caring, I wasn't affected by anything."

With that winning attitude, Currin also has reached new heights in terms of her fan base on social media where she advises other tall people on embracing their towering presence. She has some 1.7 million followers on TikTok and another 50,000 on Instagram, where she posts prolifically on issues centered around confidence and body image, as CNN reported.
"I hope that tall women can see that height is a gift," Currin said in the Guinness Records-produced video. "And that you shouldn't be ashamed that you're tall. You should really embrace it."
But being exceptionally tall does have some disadvantages, the young woman conceded. In the video, Currin is shown getting into her car with some effort given its confines. "Being tall in general like, I hit my head on a lot of stuff," she said. "Cars are really difficult. Like, certain cars I can't even fit into because, like, my legs are too long for it. And like, other cars I'm like man-spreading just to fit in," she joked.
Clothes are a challenge too, she described: "If I walk into a regular store, nothing will fit me because they don't really make clothes in my size. So especially for, like pants, and leggings and stuff, I have to have them custom-made. And then for t shirts, I usually buy a size larger cuz I like the baggy style."
Her mom concurred: "Buying clothes for her is a huge struggle. So if she has an event, it's not like most girls where they can just run out to the store, pick up an outfit and a pair of shoes and be good to go. You have to really plan ahead for anything for her."
The record-setting teen acknowledged being bullied in the past for her uncommon height, but she was able to persevere: "I was never bullied for my legs," she said. "I was more bullied because I was taller than everyone, and I guess they didn't know how to process that. So around like sophom*ore year, I just stopped caring what people thought of me. And once I stopped caring, I wasn't affected by anything."
Her mother told Guinness Records officials that people tend to gawk at her daughter when she goes out, stopping to stare while taking in her impressive height. For her part, Currin doesn't just see a very tall young lady in her daughter, but one with not just physical but innate attributes — that self-assured spring in her step, that palpably confident demeanor, a winsome smile — that are all worth celebrating.
"I've always been so proud of Maci," Traci Currin said. "She's always taken to her height very well; she was never one of those kids who scrunched over or leaned over trying to hide her height. So I'm very proud of her, and excited for her to be recognized for her height, and for her beauty."
